Remember Slinkies?

The installation of the geothermal 'slinky' loops for the ground source heat pump is underway at the Fifth Town Cheese Factory. Once the building is operational, a refrigerant liquid will be circulated through the plastic piping and exchange heat with the ground, either extracting it, or releasing it, depending on the season. Other than the electricity to operate the pump, the heat is free. The loops will be buried under two meters of native soils after they have been inspected, so will no longer be visible, except for a slight raised area at one end.
