Atikameksheng Anishawbek First Nation - Outdoor Icerink
Naughton, Ontario
After completing their innovative round log Fire Arbour, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek asked Lapointe Architects to design a roof for their outdoor ice rink using the same sustainable technology. The result was an A-frame structure buttressed at the base with large concrete piers. Local red pine logs will be assembled together with stainless steel banding and galvanized bolts providing shelter from the elements while ensuring freezing temperature for the natural ice rink.
