Spring Water House

This inter-generational farm house was designed to simplify a busy family’s day-to-day activities. The family entrance includes a large mud room complete with laundry facilities, a dog bath and a sports storage room. A sound-proof room allows young musicians to rehearse directly below the home schooling classroom, without troubling sleeping grandparents in their adjoining space. The great room, defined by Douglas fir wood trusses, is the center of activities. South-facing floor-to-ceiling windows surround the 2-storey stone fireplace, while the deep covered porch protects the space from summer overheating.
