Cochrane Plaza

This Commercial / industrial plaza, located at the intersections of two major highways, employs design strategies meant to create a healthy and sustainable work environment. The main entrance is sheltered by a large angled canopy supported by laminated wood beams bolted to galvanized steel columns. The 2-storey naturally-lit and cooled lobby doubles as an event space for tenants. Outside, the warm cedar soffit contrasts well with the durable exterior finishes; stone and brick at the lower levels and corrugated metal siding at the roof line. The angled wood trellis on the south side of the building shades the outdoor terrace at midday.
