Artist's Studio 2.0

Milford, Ontario

After five years of enjoyment of their studio, our Client requested additions to what we considered a masterpiece! We were able to quadruple the floor area without compromising the aesthetics of the original architecture. A low-ceiling gallery connects the new volumes and original Studio, narrowing as one approaches the private spaces. Organically-placed log columns support a rough-sawn wood beam. The gallery space is illuminated by concealed LED lights that enhance the warmth produced by the three-sided fireplace and heated tile floor. Views across the property extend through the exterior spaces, both open and screened in.

Area: 2,900 sf
Status: Completed Fall 2017
