As part of a Site Plan Application Process for “Ravine House”, exploratory “hydrovac” excavation was undertaken. It explores the extent that tree roots are within the proposed area of the building excavation. The results were favorable – the proposed house will not have a serious impact on the surrounding trees. Through this process, the Ravine and Natural Feature Protection Department at the City of Toronto is ensured that as much as possible is being done to protect the sensitive ravine habitat.
