First Nation Market Housing Fund - Membertou

Lapointe Architects created this bilingual housing plans booklet in cooperation with the Membertou in Cape Breton Nova Scotia, with the financial support of the First Nation Market Housing Fund. The goal was to develop house plans that meet the community’s immediate and future housing needs, while being culturally-appropriate, affordable, sustainable, adaptable, and accessible. The First Nation Market Housing Fund also asked that the plans booklet be usable by all First Nations in Canada, with the understanding that minor variations to suit regional climates and regulations may be required.
