Lapointe Architects
Building for the Economy,
Harbourfront Centre, Ontario

In February 2009, Lapointe Architects was one of three emerging architecture firms invited by Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre to develop a public art installation. The exhibit responded to the current global economic realities in relation to the design and construction industry.

Anchored by a continuous timeline, the exhibition documented Lapointe Architect‘s unique building process for the (Re)source Pavilion. As an extension to the Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Factory, the pavilion utilizes local resources at minimal costs. A mock-up of the pavilion allowed gallery visitors to closely examine the project’s innovative construction methods and materials.

Area: 400 sf
Budget: $5,000
Status: Summer 2009
